Our Philosophy

Move well, Eat well, Live well

Our principles are simple.  We want you to be the best shape of your life without resorting to restrictive diets that starve your body of nutrients and leave you feeling deprived.  Nor do we push extreme exercise programs on you that can leave you burnt out and, worse yet, injured.

All of our programs, both fitness and nutrition, are based on YOUR needs and what is good for your body.  Even our small-group training sessions are written for YOU.  We take into consideration past injuries, niggles, stage of life, and how your body moves and find the best solutions that allow you to train and progress.

We set you up with consistent and balanced exercise and nutrition habits that you can follow for life.  Consistency and balance are the keys to achieving your health and fitness goal.

If you want feel good in your body and be in the best shape of your life - all the while balancing your life, you've come to the right place.

Exercise ~Fitness ~ Movement

Imagine feeling strong, confident, and fantastic in you body.

In our personal training, we use a variety of methods for strength training, cardiovascular training, as well as mobility, flexibility, and coordination.

We believe building strength is an integral part of building and maintaining a balanced, healthy body.  For women especially, it is important to gain and maintain muscle as we age.  This helps keep us independent and strong, and enhances all we need to in our EDL, every day living.  It helps stave off bone loss due to aging, as well as keeps our metabolism humming, which in turn helps keep off extra weight.

For strength training, we use a variety of tools and methods.  At Fit Nutrition, we focus on multi-joint movements such as variations of squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, and also targeted core training.  Exercises may be bodyweight or use a variety of equipment that may include: dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX, barbell, and resistance bands.  The program intensity is increased based on fitness levels and abilities.  ALL fitness abilities are welcome.  Do not be intimidated by strength training!  It is incredibly beneficial.  Click Here to learn more about the benefits of strength training for both men and women.

My tool of choice is the kettlebell.  It is an amazing all-in-one-gym.  Here are just a few of the many benefits we see from regular kettlebell practice, which includes Kettlebell swings (ballistic movement) and grinds (pressing, squats, deadlifts, turkish get-up).

  • Rapid Fat Loss

  • Muscular Strength without added bulk

  • Increased endurance in both an aerobic and anaerobic capcity

  • Full body, balanced training

  • Stronger back and decreased back pain

  • Improve mobility and range of motion

  • Improve core stability

  • Increased mental strength

  • Enhanced performance in athletics and everyday living

  • Compact "All-In-One" gym makes training more efficient

  • Small group training allows for individualized coaching

As a qualified StrongFirst Level 2 instructor, I invite you to see how this training can change your body and your life - I do not exaggerate.

Strength has a greater purpose.  Come see for yourself.

Along with strength training, we incorporate cardio endurance training.  Our programs are based off of the Strong Endurance protocols of StrongFirst.  These sessions are designed to train your cardiovascular system in programed intervals of moderate intensity and recovery, designed for you get the best effect of the training without overly stressing your body.

We also work a lot on mobility, flexibility, and building a strong core, through the practice of Original Strength mobility training.  Our aim with improving and enhancing your mobility is to keep you moving in a functional way, as well as help you age and injury-proof your body.

Building a strong core, glutes (your bum, hon!) and back muscles helps eliminate and alleviate lower back problems, so prevalent today.

Nutrition and Lifestyle

What if you could finally get the body you want, without ever following another diet?

I am guessing if you are here reading this, you've probably tried multiple diets and workout programs in the past.  And you've probably found out that, in the long run, they simply do not work.

At Fit Nutrition, instead of an all-or-nothing dieting approach, we use proven strategies that help you get the body you want - and keep it.  Our method comes in the form of nutrition habit coaching.

Who is our coaching for?

Our coaching is for anyone who is:

  • Tired of extreme fad diets that never lead to long-term results

  • Confused by all the misinformation churned out by the Fitness media on a daily basis

  • Tired of being on the diet roller coaster of gaining/losing weight

  • Confused about whether you should be gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, raw, or paleo

  • Concerned about the current nutrition and eating habits of your partner and children

  • Looking for a more manageable and sustainable lifestyle around food and eating habits

One habit at a time:  Focusing on less to achieve more.

I know this may sound counter-intuitive, but really it is not. Fad diets and extreme meal plans seem bright and shiny, but sadly they do not work.

Slow is better.  It's not sexy.  It's not trendy.  But it works.

Our coaching offers a sustainable approach to good nutrition and can easily adapt to our different stages of life - whether it be post-pregnancy, post-illness or injury, menopause, weight loss goals, aging, and more.

Our bodies are constantly changing.  Each stage of life requires adjustments and a different approach to nutrition and energy balance.  The beauty is that the habits stay the same.  The habits act as our foundation to our stable house of nutrition.  You will develop the tools to adapt to these different stages of life.  The goal is not to simply survive.  I want you to learn to THRIVE.

With our nutrition coaching you will transform your body, stay accountable, and above all, learn of the art of staying consistent.

What you will learn:

  • Practice manageable essential nutrition habits that build over time

  • Develop healthy nutrition habits for life

  • Learn what good nutrition is and how to incorporate it into your family life

  • Develop strategies that keep you on track and stay accountable when life gets messy, busy, and real

  • Develop awareness for other lifestyle habits that directly affect your health, weight loss efforts, and performance

  • Expert guidance, care, and support through my coaching and our online community

  • Learn to do the right things, CONSISTENTLY - for life.
